About Shubhangi Gupta

Shubhangi holds an MA in Psychology from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and a BA (Hons.) in Psychology from Ashoka University, Sonipat. She is certified in Trauma Informed Care Practices (2024) from I am Wellbeing (Nairatmya Foundation), Mumbai, a mental health not-for-profit organization that works with young individuals struggling with adverse childhood experiences. Having completed around 1000+ therapy hours, she has over 2 years of experience in her practice.

After completing her Masters, Shubhangi joined Unalome Therapy, a Pune-based mental health organization, as a full time therapist. During her tenure there, she catered to a diverse clientele, and worked with them on a wide range of mental health concerns and life experiences. She has also consulted with clients through her private practice, and helped them build emotional wellbeing and a deeper connection with themselves.

In addition to her counselling, she has been involved in many projects aimed at spreading awareness about mental health and therapy. Shubhangi has also engaged in resource and knowledge building with other mental health professionals through conducting group training, learning circles, and workshops.

Through her practice, Shubhangi has worked with clients to address diverse concerns including anxiety, depression, stress management, trauma, grief and bereavement, work-place issues, neurodivergence, relationship issues, attachment and abandonment issues, chronic illness, and self-esteem and identity. She uses an eclectic and process-oriented approach that draws from the core elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Care, Transactional Analysis, and Person-centered therapy.

Her approach to therapy is holistic and focuses on the mind-body connection. Her work also focuses on navigating the multi-cultural and intersectional identities of her clients. Shubhangi believes that building safety and inclusivity is an essential part of the therapeutic process and aims at creating an environment of trust, warmth, and connection with her clients.
