Anandi holds an M.Sc in Psychology from the Indian Institute of Psychology and Research, Bangalore, and a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University, New Jersey. She is a Licensed Social Worker in New Jersey and a trauma-informed mental health professional with experience in psychotherapy, research, and victim advocacy.
She has worked across diverse clinical and community mental health settings, including hospitals, universities, school settings, and mental health organizations in India and the United States. Her experience includes individual psychotherapy, group facilitation, substance use treatment, crisis intervention, and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Anandi has worked with organizations such as Rutgers University, Violence Prevention & Victim Assistance, SOBA New Jersey, MindTribe and NIMHANS. She has facilitated psychoeducation groups, process groups, and skill-based interventions, and has supported clients through concerns such as trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship distress.
In addition to clinical work, she has a strong research background with publications and collaborative work at Rutgers University and NIMHANS. Her research includes substance use trends, trauma-informed care, and socio-emotional well-being. She is also the first author of a peer-reviewed publication in The Primary Care Companion for CNS Disorders.
At present, Anandi consults with clients and facilitates therapeutic interventions using evidence-based approaches. Her style integrates warmth, curiosity, and trauma-informed care to help clients build emotional awareness, resilience, and healthier relational patterns.
